Please join Catholic Phoenix on Friday, October 19, for a Happy Hour Lecture with architect Steven Schloeder.
Doors open at 5:30 in the Brewer’s Den at SunUp Brewing at 322 E. Camelback Road in Phoenix.
Dr. Schloeder will speak on “Thinking about the City of God: Urban Planning and Catholic Social Teaching.” He will present the design for the new mixed-use planned area development for Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Maricopa, and discuss how our built environment can support the church’s vision for living in civil society.
Admission is free. Cash bar and full menu available from SunUp Brewing. Come thirsty and hungry!
Dr. Schloeder will begin his talk at 6:00 and end by 6:30, with the happy hour continuing until 7:30 (or later).

Steven Schloeder, Ph.D., AIA, NCARB, is an architect, widely published author, and popular lecturer. He holds advanced research degrees in architecture and theology. His architecture firm Liturgical Environs, PC uses a comprehensive and integrated architectural approach to serving the building needs of the Catholic community.
Dr. Schloeder’s numerous writings, such as his widely acclaimed book Architecture in Communion (Ignatius Press) and articles in Catholic World Report, Crisis, Faith and Form and The Intercollegiate Review, have helped to reframe the dialogue between contemporary Catholicism and modern architecture.
